Doctor Who’s Message To The UK Looters

The Ninth Doctor tells the UK looters off....

Michael Moore: “How I Got to Madison…”

The scene in Madison is nothing like what they are showing you on TV or in the newspaper. First, you notice that the whole town is behind this. Yard signs and signs in store windows are everywhere supporting public workers...

Today has started rather nicely (it's morning on this side on the Pond) with an email from Michael Moore  waiting for me in my inbox...Cool!.

I haven't posted anything from Michael Moore in this blog for quite a while now, and the email's topic is on the news at the moment, so you can see why I'm rather pleased to share it with you guys (as soon as I've finished my coffee, of course)...

Enjoy!

How I Got to Madison, Wisconsin ...a letter from Michael Moore

Friends,

Early yesterday morning, around 1:00 AM, I had finished work for the day on my current "project" (top secret for now -- sorry, no spoiler alerts!). Someone had sent me a link to a discussion Bill O'Reilly had had with Sarah Palin a few hours earlier about my belief that the money the 21st Century rich have absconded with really isn't theirs -- and that a vast chunk of it should be taken away from them.

They were referring to comments I had made earlier in the week on a small cable show called GRITtv (Part 1 and Part 2). I honestly didn't know this was going to air that night (I had been asked to stop by and say a few words of support for a nurses union video), but I spoke from my heart about the millions of our fellow Americans who have had their homes and jobs stolen from them by a criminal class of millionaires and billionaires. It was the morning after the Oscars, at which the winner of Best Documentary for "Inside Job" stood at the microphone and declared, "I must start by pointing out that three years after our horrific financial crisis caused by financial fraud, not a single financial executive has gone to jail. And that's wrong." And he was applauded for saying this. (When did they stop booing Oscar speeches? Damn!)

So GRITtv ran my comments -- and all week the right wingopoly has been upset over what I said: That the money that the rich have stolen (or not paid taxes on) belongs to the American people. Drudge/Limbaugh/Beck and even Donald Trump went nuts, calling me names and suggesting I move to Cuba.

So in the wee hours of yesterday morning I sat down to write an answer to them. By 3:00 AM, it had turned into more of a manifesto of class war -- or, I should say, a manifesto against the class war the rich have been conducting on the American people for the past 30 years. I read it aloud to myself to see how it sounded (trying not to wake anyone else in the apartment) and then -- and this is why no one should be up at 3:00 AM -- the crazy kicked in: I needed to get in the car and drive to Madison and give this speech.

I went online to get directions and saw that there was no official big rally planned like the one they had last Saturday and will have again next Saturday. Just the normal ongoing demonstration and occupation of the State Capitol that's been in process since February 12th (the day after Mubarak was overthrown in Egypt) to protest the Republican governor's move to kill the state's public unions.

So, it's three in the morning and I'm a thousand miles from Madison and I see that the open microphone for speakers starts at noon. Hmm. No time to drive from New York. I was off to the airport. I left a note on the kitchen table saying I'd be back at 9:00 PM. Called a friend and asked him if he wanted to meet me at the Delta counter. Called the guy who manages my website, woke him up, and asked him to track down the coordinators in Madison and tell them I'm on my way and would like to say a few words if possible -- "but tell them if they've got other plans or no room for me, I'll be happy just to stand there holding a sign and singing Solidarity Forever."

Is Astral Travel Really Possible?

A dream post, like... ;-)

Amplifyd from www.loupdargent.com
In this post, Al Perhacs, our Guest Writer for today, is  taking us to another plane... the astral one.
Apparently, sometime in the last century, a few decades ago, both the CIA and the KGB were actually quite interested in astral travel and out-of-body experience. So, if it was good enough for those shadowy organisations, it's definitely good enough for LoupDargent.com.....
Not that we would dream of using it for the same purpose than them  though.
Anyway, let's relax and listen to Al  telling us all about astral projecting....
Enjoy
Loup Dargent

PS: By the way, we've also added, as a bonus, two music videos to help you relax and all...  (They're both from our good friend, Canadian singer
/songwriter, Marcomé, so you're in for a treat.)

Is Astral Projecting or Travel Really Possible?
Al Perhacs

Have you ever watched science fiction movies direct from
Hollywood, especially some of those in the Star Wars genre? To
give you a general plot idea, it is not out of context to say
that 11 out of 12 such flicks show astral projection. The lead
actor fights the bad guys in space, in a three dimensional
projection armed with cool gadgets, moving across the universe
in a fraction of seconds.

It is exhilarating to fantasize about astral projection. Now if
you have no general scientific idea what astral projection is
all about, then let me build up your knowledge about this term
and the aura revolving around it.

Astral projection or travel, is this common?

It is quite likely that you dream, in fact nearly everybody
across the globe dreams when sleeping. Note this is not touching
on those who daydream; that's different.

In order to explain the mechanism behind dreaming, here is a
basic definition. In a nutshell, this is feeling an out of the
body experience. It may sound mystic to the ear, but it is a
likely fact which people around the world have felt and
acknowledged at some level.

How can we confirm it or feel it?

When we sleep, our physical body goes to sleep, but our mind
works continuously. This is primarily the reason why we dream
about the facts and experience which have not felt as yet. So in
other words astral projection is the extension of our dream like
state, but the only difference being is that we can control it
and do it whenever we want. This cannot be termed as the sleepy
state completely, although the feeling is that of sleep.

Classic ‘Doctor Who’: Vintage Dalek Photos Unearthed

One of my Doctor Who related posts was recently featured on Geeks of Doom... Nice one!

Amplifyd from geeksofdoom.com

Vintage Doctor WhoDoctor Who has a legacy that spans almost 50 years, and has captivated the minds and attention of fans from the very beginning of the show. The series has since become a cultural staple in the UK and an aspect of Whovian lore that has the attention of many fans is the history of the show behind the scenes and during its evolution through the years.

Loup_Dargent recently dropped us a line and drew our attention to a collection of some classic black-and-white photographs from the history of Doctor Who behind the scenes — some of which have not even been posted on BBC sources.

The collection of photos range from the Sixties to the Seventies with a focus on Daleks, and includes First Doctor William Hartnell, and Third Doctor Jon Pertwee. There are even a couple pics of Peter Cushing‘s Doctor as well.

Here are a few samples below. Be sure to click them to head over and see them at Loup Dargent’s site in their full sizes.

Doctor Who: No Blinking Allowed (Fan Vid)

In the video/montage, the TARDIS takes us on another journey down Memory Lane...

We start with that memorable moment when the Ninth Doctor introduces himself to Rose and then carry on through brief moments of the Ninth Doctor and Rose era, the Tenth Doctor and Rose one, that first encounter with Donna, and the Tenth Doctor and Martha one up to that dreadful time when the Weeping Angels hold the TARDIS while the Doctor and Martha are trapped in the past...

All that set to the Doctor Who Theme Remix 'Blink' by Andy Farrell, plus a few bits that I've added to the beginning and the end for good measure.

Bush’s Book or How George W. Has Not Changed a Bit

>>The only thing, it seems, that he regrets is his handling of Hurricane Katrina, and even there he blames circumstances and his staff....<<

George W. Bush's memoir,Decision Points, goes on sale today, and the hoopla of a major book tour has already begun.  Karl Rove may have been " Bush's Brain" back in the day, but Bush's book, from what I can tell, is a typically brainless attempt on Dubya's part to justify the acts of one of the worst administrations in our nation's history. Though I will admit that his personal observations make him seem more sympathetic, Bush doesn't seem to have learned a thing since the days of " Wanted, Dead or Alive" and " You're doin' a heck of a job, Brownie"  According to its author, this book is a starting point for the judgment of history, which he clearly feels will vindicate him.  Personally, I am not so sure.

Together We Can Save Sakineh Ashtiani!

Our global outcry stopped her unjust stoning sentence in July.

Amplifyd from www.loupdargent.com
Our global outcry stopped her unjust stoning sentence in July. Now we have less than 24 hours to save her life.
Sakineh's adultery case is a tragic sham stacked with human rights violations. First, she was to be stoned to death. But the Iranian government had to revoke the sentence after her children generated a tremendous outcry against the farcical trial -- she could not speak the language used in court, and the alleged incidents of adultery took place after her husband's death.
Then her lawyer was forced into exile, and the prosecution conjured up a new trumped-up charge for which she would be executed -- the murder of her husband. Despite this being double jeoprady, as she is already serving time for alleged complicity in this crime, Sakineh was tortured and paraded on national television to 'confess', and was found guilty. The regime has now arrested two German journalists, her lawyer and her son, who has bravely led the international campaign to save his mother. All remain in prison and Sakineh's son and lawyer have been also tortured and have no access to lawyers.
Now Iranian human rights activists state an order has just been issued from Tehran to implement her killing immediately, she is on the list and tomorrow is execution day.
Persistent campaigning led Iran to drop Sakineh's stoning sentence and captured the attention of leaders in countries with influence on Iran, like Turkey and Brazil. Now let's urgently raise our voices to stop her killing and inhumane treatment and free her, her lawyer, her son and the jailed German journalists.
A massive public outcry has the moral authority to stop heinous crimes. Let's use these 24 hours to send a clear message -- the world is watching and we all stand together today to save Sakineh's life and against injustice everywhere. Read more at www.loupdargent.com
